Honor the Spirit of Shakambari, The Green Goddess, "The Eco Devi,"  with a ritual to plant our seeds of Inspiration, Creativity, Peace, Joy, Wisdom, Courage, Compassion to bring World Sustainability, Conserve Natural Resources and Preserve Wildlife and Natural Habitats.

Bring a bottle of water (preferably not plastic),  an offering of fruit to be blessed and shared, a small object representing the seed that you are planting in the world, and the same items for someone else if a friend or relative  wants to join in energetically.

If you are part of a non-profit organization that is Green or if you have a Green business, please feel free to bring materials to share with the group.

Dress comfortably and casually and for sun-safety. 

Meet us in Griffith Park near the North East corner of Los Feliz Blvd at Fern Dell.  Please arrive early as we will be walking for 10 to 15 minutes to the site for the ritual.

Aanand Saagar is located just up from Abbott Kinney Blvd., in an industrial office complex. There is plenty of parking available. A $15 donation is suggested. If $15 is out of your range, come anyway, and if you can afford to donate more, please do for the benefit of the studio, the kirtan artist and the other musicians.

Lalita - Lily Diamond was put on the path of the Divine Mother in Hinduism through a series of miracles with the sacred text, The Devi Mahatmyam, powerful healing experiences in her healing practice, and visitations of the Goddess.

The Devi Mahatmyam is said to be a "mantra shastra," a tool for individual liberation and for bringing peace, wellness, harmony, prosperity and enlightenment during times of conflict, disease, poverty, war and ignorance.

It is a tradition to set the four hymns in praise of Goddess Durga and Her manifestations to music, along with other slokas and mantras, which are then sung as a form of divine offering.
